Let's use Python and MongoDB to map some Urban Forestry Administration data for Washington, DC. We'll see which neighborhoods are dense with trees and which are sparse, and find out whether the tree on a particular corner is a red oak or a pin oak.
We'll install MongoDB and scientific Python libraries, and code up a web application. Learn to use PyMongo from one of its developers, and create a working app that you can adapt to a variety of data and visualizations.
