Starting a Business Blog? 10 Blogs for New Business Bloggers To Follow

A little over two years ago, I sat down to write a business blog post for the first time. The company for which I was working at the time had just started their blog and I wanted to start contributing. At the time, I had heard the terms “SEO” and “keywords,” but really had no idea what those words meant. Instead, I was more focused on putting together words and sentences that made sense. Let’s just say my first blogging attempts were really good learning experiences!

Starting a business blog is one of the most important first steps any new business should take. Blogging allows organizations to tell the online world about who they are and what they do. Marketers and small business owners who harness the power of content through a business blog experience benefits such as more visitors to their websites and increased exposure of their brands. These activities can translate into a higher number of leads and more sales. Do you think these are good reasons to start a business blog?

As you begin to write your own business blog, you should aim for consistency. Be consistent in your topics, your writing style and the amount of posts you publish. You may need to write a few (or few dozen) posts before you begin to feel comfortable and confident. Remember to allow yourself time and diligence to best determine the content and style your audience prefers; this is crucial since a primary reason for having a business blog is to provide your audience with information about your business – and to convert them into potential clients.

Once you have your topics and writing style down, the most important step left is to keep writing, and to do so on a regular basis. Some authors publish daily, but others are just as successful when they publish once or twice a week. You may become discouraged at times when you see fewer shares or no comments, but do not let these things deter you – each article has the potential to influence someone and you never know when.

If you are just getting started on a business blog, these are ten blogs I would recommend for you to follow. The information and insights they provide is useful for businesses of all sizes and industries. The content reflects current trends in business, social media and marketing.
